Spine Time Technique

Your spine is the vital centre of your nervous system and you can learn three quick “tricks” to upgrade your focus, physical ease and performance in any area of your life. Take a moment to learn these Spine Time Techniques so you can feel better and perform better in any area of your life.
Spine Time Technique Number One: Imagine you are standing in the center of a big bubble which we’ll call your life. Notice that whoever is to the sides of you and behind you is hard to see or notice clearly. It actually feels like it’s not part of your experience. Now try the following simple change. Imagine still being in that bubble and just moving to the inner edge of it. Put your spine up against the edge of the bubble you’re in. No notice that you feel much more involved in the bubble/your life by attaching your spine in this way. Neat, huh?

Spine Time Technique Number Two: This is really simple. Think of a stressor in your life at the moment and then stop thinking about it. Put your attention on your spine and imagine it’s a xylophone! Pretend you’re playing the parts of your spine (all the vertebrae) with felt-covered mallets and each one makes its own unique & fun sound. Really get into it for a minute or two. Feel the fun when each part of the spine is gently struck and hear the resounding sounds in your inner ear. Now think again about the stressor and notice you feel better about it. Neat, huh?

Spine Time Technique Number Three: This is also very simple to do in your imagination. When you’re feeling cranky, congested, awkward, contracted or otherwise grumpy in your body this one will really help. Imagine a string timed to the top of your spine (in your head) and the bottom (in your tush) and they gently pull in opposite directions so your spine elongates. Now see or imagine all the dust, debris and inter-galactic “schmutz” just dropping out in between each spinal vertebrae. Let it all fall out and be swept away by the wind. Imagine a wonderfully soft get which is the perfect temperature sprayed between all the joints in your spine as the strings are gently let go. You re-assemble yourself and take a moment to notice how much better you feel. Neat, huh?
