Women Active at Work Challenge

General-3_croppedThe Women Active at Work Challenge (#WAW) by Scottish Women in Sport launched in July, coinciding with ‘One Year On’ since Glasgow 2014.

The campaign aims to build on the Games legacy and support all women out there who want to get active and try sport, but just need a little extra encouragement!

We’ve set eight challenges for you, so try one, try them all or invent your own. Whatever you choose to do tell us about it; tweet or post on Instagram using #WAW; that way you will be helping other women out there who may want to get fit but need a little bit more support before they start – all the content submitted will make its way onto our Wall of Fame.

We’ve set eight challenges in a range of activities and sports that are best enjoyed with friends, so don’t do it on your own – enroll the help of work colleagues or friends and together take on the challenge to get fit and have some fun playing sport.

The campaign has the backing of the Scottish Government and it’s all about getting us women over our fear of trying out sport and activity again; we want women to remember the fun we all had playing sport as children and allowing ourselves to experience that joy all over again.

So check out the website www.womenactiveatwork.co.uk, get your friends on board and choose your challenge. Once you’re out there tell us about it by taking a quick photo and posting it on Twitter or Instagram using #WAW. Not ready to post a pic – just drop us a line and tell us about your challenge through the same channels using the same hashtag.

Support SWiS in this campaign and lets make a difference for ourselves, our daughters and our granddaughters.

Remember making it fun will mean you’ll enjoy getting fit.

Good luck!
