You will doubtless have heard of the Law of Attraction. You may be a convert, a beginner or even ‘master’ of the Law. It may work for you perfectly, all of the time. Congratulations. You are clearly on the path to peace and fulfilment (if you are not there already).
For those of us that occasionally struggle with this concept, I present below an alternative approach. It is only a small excerpt from the book ‘You! In A Nutshell’ and, whilst it is likely to be far more effective within the context of the entire book, I do feel that this different framing of the ‘law’ may remove a block or create a new perspective for you to try. And try it you should because despite the vagaries of such ‘fix your life’ techniques, you are what you think! Firstly, re-frame it. Consider it as being not so much a ‘law’ (imposed, external, restricting) as an art; creative, personal and flexible. In fact, think of it as The Art of Allowing. Why? Because
It is not about just thinking positively.
It is about what you are thinking about negatively.
Thinking positively works sometimes. However, it does not in itself address the issue completely. It can cover over the negative state but the issue remains open. There is not real closure. What we now know to be more important is actually dealing with the reason why you feel negatively about something in the first place and how you actually change this emotional state rather than applying a plaster to it. It is about why you react in the same old negative way. It is about giving you the tools to deal with THIS and not to simply positively think around it.
The more you practice negative thoughts and behaviours then the better you become at them. You practice and practice and create your own ‘effects’ and if they are negative then more negativity follows. A negative loop.
BUT, if you are responsible, if you are ‘at cause’, then your thoughts are positive, your behaviour becomes positive and these results are confirmed by your own positive emotional feedback. A positive loop.
Whichever you choose, it works every time. Whether you think you can or think you cannot, you are right!
So let’s assume that so far the ‘Law’ of attraction has not worked for you.
What we believe is that you are missing one word from that statement – yet!
These principles have not worked for you YET and all because you have previously not allowed them to!
Remember that you cannot think about something that you don’t want to think about so you have to change your focus. You have to re-write the old program to create new results. The law of attraction always works 100% of the time. Thoughts of what you want, is moving towards these ‘things’ in alignment (balance, peace, etc). Thoughts of what you don’t want, is moving away from (the things) and is out of alignment.
Sometimes it is the question that you ask yourself that is wrong. The question (search term) that you ask should ideally be framed around the image that you want to make.
So it is important to learn how to ask the right questions.
