Celebrating eight years of Funny Women Awards on 10th October
This year’s Funny Women Awards are done and dusted and Funny Women now has a chance to show off all this lovely new talent and more. Funny Women begins its Autumn season in central London with its Second Sunday Showcases back at Leicester Square Theatre’s studio theatre and it’s a real cause for celebration after such a brilliant year.
Headlining the first show is the fantastic Kerry Godliman who was highly recommended in the very first final of the Funny Women Awards back in 2003. Kerry has gone on to well deserved fame and fortune with several TV commercials and high profile television appearances on programmes like Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.
“A great comic who oozes personality”, BRUCE DESSAU, EVENING STANDARD
“She may present herself as just one of the girls, but this young Londoner has clearly got the potential to really stand out” THE SCOTSMAN
Setting the trend for the future of female comedy are Funny Women?s very special guests; this year’s winners of the Funny Women Awards Thankless Child – Liz Black and Freya Slipper – who are following in the footsteps of famous female comedy duos like French & Saunders, and Mel & Sue.
The evening features more winners and newcomers to the Funny Women fold all held together by a brilliant host, Julie Jepson, another Award winning alumni from 2005. Confirmed so far from this year’s final are runner up Rachel Parris, Lindsay Sharman and Iona Dudley-Ward.
